October 1st, 2005--We had a big swell the last couple of days, so it kind of stirred up the fish a little bit. We ended up with pretty close to limits for 9 anglers with only 3 ling cod. The grade of rockfish was great though. We had to work hard for the fish today. Ended up fishing in about 40 ft of water off Baxman's (about 3 miles north). We landed some real nice capazone's. Showing off some nice black rockfish are (left) Mike Sala and (right) Pokey Sala both from Laytenville. The ocean was calm but we had some fog. Still a good day to be on the water!

10/2/05--Went out with a light load today. Weather was great! Fish were a bit unhappy. We worked hard and finally found some hungry ones. Ended up with limits and one shy of limits of ling cods. Biggest ling was 14 pounds caught by Sheri Axtell from Reno Nv.

10/3/05--Ocean still nice. Went south today instead of north. We found some hungry fish today. We had to sort through some small ones, but ended up with limits for 10 anglers and 7 lingcods. Nothing big on the lingcod plate but fun was had by all. Picture is from 9/3's trip. Yhawwww!

10/05/05--Ocean starting to pick up a little bit. The forcast was for 15 to 25 knots of wind. It must have stayed off shore because we had no wind, just some swell. The fish were hungry. Espescially the school fish. They were practicly jumping in the boat. It made it nice because we could be picky with the size. The ling cod weren't very hungry though. We had several on but only got one to the boat. It was landed by Dan Hansford from Lakeport Ca. The other two in the picture are Tom and Louise Harlan from Murhpy Ca with a pair of nice vermillion rockfish. Good job by all!!!

October 6th, 2005--Weather remained calm. Fished north from 1 to 3 miles in about 80 ft of water. Grade "A" fishing today. Caught limits of rockfish for 7 anglers and scored 10 ling cod!! Had a pod of dolphins go by the boat and gave us a good look. Sun was shinning and the fish were hungry! Biggest ling was landed by Paul Allen from Big Bend Ca weighing in at 18 pounds. Caught on light tackle with a 3 oz jig on the bottom with a teaser hook above. Picture from left to right; Paul Allen from Big Bend-18 lb ling!, Boyd Harp also from Big Bend, Sr. Deckhand Am Nesia, Billy Taylor from Sacramento with his first ling cod and a nice vermillion rockfish, and Bob Branson from Pioneer Ca with a 14 lb lingcod. Yhaaaawww!!!

Monday, October 17th, 2005--The weekend was a wash-out! 20ft swells comming through the jetty's. Monday, however, was a different day. Most of the weekends customers hung around for one more day to see if the ocean would cooperate for us. And guess what? It did. Beautiful conditions. Sun shining and about a 6ft swell with light winds.Limits of nice rockfish for 13 anglers. Only one ling cod. I think the lings are still hiding from the big swell. Showing off a common site for the day is Jim Wilson from Redding Ca holding up a nice double of blue rockfish. Jim was also the lucky one to land a ling cod weighing in at about 10 pounds. Fish-On!!
