The wind blew the last
couple of days. I think it turned the ocean up a bit. Went out today. The
winds stayed offshore for
us throughout the whole trip. Still had some steepness in the swells though.
Fish were hungry! Fished less than a mile from the Buoy. Ended up with
30 fish for 18 anglers. Lots of action. Everybody had lots of fun. I think
the
picture tells the story. Biggest one was captured by a young man by the
name of Mathew Grooms all the way from Indianapolis Indiana. He got the
big fish
pot with a 16 pound king salmon. Way to go Matt.

Throughout the week we pretty
much had a fish per rod or better. Still have nice grade with biggest
fish per trip reaching
25 lbs. Several fish per trip averaging 14-16 lbs. The fish close to home
finally moved out. The last couple of days we have been fishing up north
about 4-5 miles in about 250-300 ft of water. Same gear is working; Green
or chrome crocodile spoon or most hutchies. I hear lots of reports of the
watermelon apex has been a hot ticket.
Today we started off a little bit slow. The 2 big fish of the morning were
20 lbs caught by Jeremiah Langley from Placerville and a 25 lb king landed
by Steve
Spediacci from Martinez.
Picture; Afternoon trip. The weather is starting to pick up a little bit. The
winds are blowing 15-25 just offshore. It makes the inside waters a little
bumpy. But when the fish are biting, you don't really notice. That was the
case this
afternoon. Finished out the trip with limits for 11 fishermen. Nice way to
end the day. Biggest one of the trip was 22 lbs caught by Casey Taormina from
Twainhearte
Ca. Sounds the wind is going to blow. Fish-On!

Fish are still hungry. On the morning trip we ended up with limits for 15 anglers. Biggest one weighing in at 40 pounds!! That's right. 40 pounds!! Biggest one of the year so far. The 40 pounder was landed by Greg Gonzales from Modesto. Jim Siebe also had a nice fish weighing in at 21 pounds. Jim is from Napa. Also Steve Gonzales caught one at 20 pounds. Again we fished less than 2 miles south of the buoy.
Picture; Afternoon trip was just as successful! Although we ended up
2 fish shy of limits for 10 people. Biggest fish was caught by Chrissy Clover
from
Rodental Germany weighing in at 25 pounds. Another great trip aboard
the Telstar*.

Today was Ladies day aboard
the Telstar*. The fish scattered over the last two days. The bite was
off today. But, as you
see, the ladies had no trouble coming home the bacon. On the left is regular
Charlene Galloway from Lakeport Ca. holding up 36 pounds of king salmon,
and on the right is Pat Ford from Placentia Ca. holding up a whopping 24
pound salmon. End score, 3 fish for 5 anglers. Still not a bad day on the
water. Fish-On!

1st week of June
The first week in June has proved to
be acceptable production. We ended up most trips with a fish per rod. Weather
was beautiful
and the winds were calm. Fished usually within 2 miles from the buoy in
about 250 ft of water. This picture was taken on Saturday the 3rd. This
family
is going home with enough salmon for a couple of meals!! We had several
fish this week over 20 pounds. With the biggest 2 reaching 25lbs! They
were caught
by Gary Hansen from Ignacio Co. and the other one was caught by Justin
Earwood from Placerville Ca. Good job everyone!!
