Salmon water

We went out today looking for some hungry rockfish. We found lots of rockfish, but not too many hungry rockfish. The salmon water was in and the rockfish don’t like to bite in the salmon water. I tried a bunch of spots north to just above the reef and finally decided to run all the way back down and try just south of the harbor. I wanted to go south to start with, but with all this wind we’ve had out of the northwest, and the ride I put up with the last time, I was hesitant. By 10:00 the winds haven’t come in yet so off we go looking for some clear water. It wasn’t near as brown south and I think it payed off. I don’t think we ended up with half limits for an average, but we definitely caught most of our fish in the last half hour. Some anglers caught 5 fish at our last spot. Cory Richards and her 6 year old son from Ordbend Ca. had a team effort in landing this double of ling cod. The bottom one was just under size, but the top one was dinner.
